Organization Profile
Tools for Humanity’s vision is to address the economic/social needs of low-income communities and towards reducing poverty through setting up vocational training, building skills and resourceful youth lead initiatives, cooperatives, social enterprises, second hand tool distribution depot both in Canada and globally. The organization is committed to activity developed in community collaboration and income generating programs for integration newcomers and IDPs to local communities. T4H have committed to work and partner to local NGOs, Local Government agencies that work in areas of youth, women and seniors, as well as our services to link programs that help post conflict communities.
Tools for Humanity efforts to enhance multicultural programs, family literacy and settlement services (affordable housing, ESL services, working with immigrant/refugee families and schools), T4H is also participate CIDA’s International Development Week (IDW) annually in Canada.
Tools for Humanity’s activity began in early 1993 and located in Edmonton 2005 as Extra Provincial, currently have staff and many volunteers in Canad, Kenya, Djibouti and Somalia.

The mission of the Emergency Food Assistance Program is to alleviate hunger of disadvantaged communities by providing funds, technical assistance, advocacy and information to donars that deliver emergency food and services to hungry Refugees/IDPs.

T4H’S Objectives
The purpose of the organization shall be to promote, mobilize and educate greater Canadian participation in the international development and reduce global poverty in post conflict communities, to link with the foregoing:
a) To provide opportunities for self-sufficient and economical independence as quickly as possible by vocational training, tool distribution and capacity building.
b) To improve the quality of life, economic development and empower IDPs and low income communities in post conflict and developing countries.
c) To facilitate and support the implementation of the international development strategy on education for all, hands on training, sharing experiences by community cooperative model.
d) To promote and advance the Immigrants presence in the local and international cooperative professional community.
e) To contribute toward capacity building for women workforce, sustainable practices in technology and technical transfer
f) To raise awareness in uses of solar energy, Eco-community, social enterprise, micro enterprises and communities collaborative models as a alternative to advance efforts of the communities in poverty reduction
g) To be an effective advocate and coordinate activities for humanitarian and international development concerns on behalf of our members, IDPs/Refugees and donars.
Tools for Humanity Organizational Structure
T4H is governed by an elected Board of Directors comprised of not less than five and no more than nine persons. These directors are drawn from a mixture of representatives of practitioners, professionals, business, academicians, community leaders, women and youth groups
Our Approach
Our aim is to achieve a new innovative approach to tackle social and economic problems of marginalized communities through social enterprise, cooperative and inter-community knowledge based capacity building while we deliver quality community economic development in field of social change in Canada and globally.
This approach is a new way to do social change and reduce poverty while working economic strength to create employment, technical training and new opportunities for low income people.
Tools for Humanity works towards reducing poverty through setting up vocational and leadership institute, building skills and resourceful community based organizations, cooperatives, social enterprises, second hand tool distribution depot.
