CEO/President's Message

The year 2011 marks the 20th anniversary of Tools for Humanity Inc (T4H). Over the last two decades, T4H has achieved remarkable development in humanitarian and community economic development projects in Canada and Horn of Africa. Today,  our Head Office inTorontoCanada and three regional offices in four countries in Sub-Sahara Africa (Djibouti,Kenya,Ethiopia andSomalia) and 9 project offices in 9 cities (Somaliland/Puntland/ Galmudug, Banadir, Lower and Middle Shabelle, Hiran and Bay).  T4H have professional practitioners with purpose to become the most effective proactive international development and humanitarian service organization with a reputation for excellence, transparent and cost-effective programs that can improve health and well-being of rural and urban families in the region.

Over the years, we have successfully built a brand name that embodies high quality capacity building, training and reliability services. We have also overcome many challenges, particularly over the last two years when we faced the protracted impact of the 2008 global financial meltdown, along with rising food prices, constant droughts and other humanitarian issues in region.

It is noteworthy that, despite the civil unrest and unfavorable economic conditions in this region, T4H’s leadership has continued to stay focused to expand and develop our projects. The T4H has indeed emerged stronger and more resilient cohesive team with a better and stronger sense of empowerment in their specific areas of responsibility and their eagerness   to do more for Sub-Sahara Africa. Notwithstanding the difficult times, our practitioners has continued to invest for rural and remote communities in Africa, looking beyond hand-outs and outside Aid assistance, and  has embarked on several initiatives to develop a cooperatives and social enterprises that can provide income and sustainable livelihood.

We are moving forward into the next decade extend our skilled, passionate, creative practitioners to many neighborhood countries in Arab world like Yemen, South Sudan and others to share with the inspiration, resources, and incredible life experiences of our truly amazing organization.

We look forward to continuing T4H's long-standing tradition of community-centered service in the coming year – as we work to serve you even better.
