T4H's Africa Projects

Community Poverty Reduction Initiative Fund (CPRI)

Women and Youth Business Start-ups

Background:

Tools for Humanity had established itself as a proactive innovative leader in collaboration with immigrant women organization's, immigrant women small businesses and youth to provide knowledge based business start-ups, cooperative and social enterprise training. The program is to help immigrant women start their own business and build skills necessary for a sustainable economic growth.

Most of these immigrant women have a home-based or informal micro enterprise. To support these entrepreneurs, there are now training programs designed to help immigrant women toward the goal of becoming economically self-sufficient through cooperative and social enterprise.

This program and growing projects in developing nations (Somalia/Somaliland, Djibouti, soon South Sudan and and Ethiopia) will provide Social Enterprenourship Skills and small loans to women and youth informal business and entrepreneurs, empowering them to lift themselves out of poverty. This project gives individuals donors and community-based organizations in Canada the ability to make donations/micro loans directly to entrepreneurs and small business in selected small scale industries in Africa( Agro-food processing, crafts and arts)

About T4H's Community Poverty Reduction Initiative Funds (CPRI) is a great tool for alleviating poverty in Canada and post conflict countries in Africa. It's also the opportunity with broad appeal to local communities that hasn't yet gained much attention on Canadian media circles, So we're reaching out to emerging communities around the country through public engagement and Challenge to raise both funds and awareness for Africa's social enterprenourship skills and micro community development financial needs.

T4H will train and lend this small capital to entrepreneurs/small business through our African regional office. Then, when they repay their loans, we lend it out again to new entrepreneurs/small business. (We also pool donations from individuals who like T4H's engaging model, but prefer to donate instead of lend.)
